AFBC Announces Zonal Referee, Judge, and Coaching Training Programs Across Four Zones

To elevate the standards of boxing officiating and coaching across Africa, the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) is organizing a series of regional training sessions for referees, judges, and coaches in each of its four zones. The initiative will provide tailored instruction and certification opportunities, aiming to enhance expertise within the sport across the continent.

The scheduled training programs are as follows:

• Zone 1: A 2nd Star Referee and Judge (R&J) training, alongside a 2nd Star coaching training, will be held in Rabat, Morocco, from January 22 to January 28, 2025.
• Zone 2: Accra, Ghana, will host 1st Star R&J and 1st Star coaching training sessions from December 12 to December 18, 2024.
• Zone 3: Nairobi, Kenya, will offer 1st Star R&J and 1st Star coaching training from November 22 to November 28, 2024.
• Zone 4: Maputo, Mozambique, will conduct 1st Star R&J and 1st Star coaching training sessions from December 13 to December 18, 2024.

AFBC calls upon all National Federations to confirm their participation and submit the number of attendees from their federation. This structured approach is expected to unify standards, ensure consistent quality in officiating, and contribute to the development of high-caliber coaches across Africa.
